Kristi Bridgeman
Inspiration
Kristi’s inspirations are her children and the rainforest near her home. She is influenced by works of Canadian Impressionists, Eastern Mandala artists, and Victorian children’s illustrators. Her trademark amber and sepia pallet evolved after searching for earth friendly mediums. She now uses bottled ink, quill pens, and water based paints. The distinctive medium brings a warm, ethereal, west coast feeling to the works.

Awards
Kristi's book illustrations have recently earned several international awards. She has illustrated “There once was a Camel” by Poet P.K. Page , “You me, and my O.T” with author Paulette Bourgeois (Franklin the Turtle) and The Knot Fairy/Sock Fairy series with Bobbie Hinman. She has also illustrated children’s literacy and health publications with Alison Preece from University of Victoria, as well as dozens in series from U Vic, UBC, and Oxford University Press. Kristi has won several honorable mentions through the juried exhibits of Federation of Canadian Artists.
